Description
Beautiful, flowing and sinuous, laminated “legs” are joined to 10 bottle “rails” and “stretchers” using hand-cut half lap and dowel joinery secured with System 3 epoxy, they provide a unique resting place for 4 bottles of your favorite vintage. Measuring 7″ wide x 12.5″ deep x 17″ tall, these unique pieces of northwest native wood art are sized to fit just about anywhere there’s a flat surface. Each rack is made from 100% solid NW native wood (spalted big leaf maple), that I cut and shape or laminate on hand built forms. I fit all joinery during the assembly process which takes place after initial hand rubbed oil finishing. After glue-up with System 3 epoxy and removal from clamps, each rack receives several hand-wiped coats of polyurethane for protection. Felt pads are affixed to “leg ends/feet” of each rack to protect both the rack and surface it sits upon.
Total shop time for construction of each winewave rack is about 12-15 hours.
