Description
This necklace holder (approx. 13″ wide x 10″ tall) is made from furniture quality air dried lumber that was sustainably harvested, salvaged, or recycled. The holder can be hung on a wall with the wall hangars provided. It will accomodate 12-15 necklaces up to about 20″ in length.
The flat back panel is resawn from solid lumber that I cut to a thickness of about 1/4″ then hand plane or sand to a silky smooth surface. (Some of these necklace holders use “live edge” lumber where bark has been carefully removed to expose the natural edge; color and grain patterns of available maple may differ from that shown in photo; I do not remove wood “imperfections” but work with them on each piece ; jewelry shown for demonstration purpose only, not included with purchase). The top-notched hangar is sawn from solid lumber then hand-shaped with bandsaw and spokeshave and smoothed with handplane or sanding block. Notches are individually cut on the bandsaw. Top hangar is rabbeted with router, chisel, and handplane then the panel is fitted and glued into the rabbet.
The entire assembly is finished with hand-rubbed oil/polyurethane mix for durable beauty and lasting protection. Small brass plated hangars complete the assembly and allow it to be wall hung (hanging instructions and screws provided).
